With the support of the Banque de Luxembourg, the European Parliament Information Office in Luxembourg and the CNFL is hosting a conference titled "Women in economic decision-making - how to eliminate persistent inequalities?",  at the Banque de Luxembourg on Thursday 6 April.

One of the major advances in the path of gender equality is the entry of women into the labor market. While many women have acquired financial autonomy and invest in the public sphere, women are still underrepresented in the world of work and especially at high levels of the hierarchy. Not only is the world of work reflecting a society in which it is normal for men to work full-time and women part-time, but also a society in which men continue to make the decisions. These issues will be addressed during a round table and discussions with guests, including:

Viviane Reding, MEP, former vice-president of the European Commission
Marina Andrieu, executive director and co-founder of Women Digital Empowerment
Norman FISCH, secretary-general of the National Institute for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility
Claudine Speltz, co-founder and honorary president of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs of Luxembourg
Tonie Van Dam, professor and vice-president in charge of gender issues at the University of Luxembourg
Moderator: Thierry Raizer, editor-in-chief, Paperjam, Maison Moderne

The conference will run from 18:30 to 20:30, at the Auditorium of Banque de Luxembourg, 14 Boulevard Royal, followed by a cocktail. Interpretation from French to English and English to French will be available.

Registration before 4 April by email: epluxembourg@ep.europa.eu

The BDL car park will be available free of charge after 18:00.
