This  year AXA organised - for the sixth consecutive year - Corporate Responsibility Week ("CR Week"), with a particular focus on risk prevention.

Each year, the CR Week provides an opportunity for AXA employees to show their commitment to social responsibility and the role of insurance that works for the protection and welfare of individuals and communities.

Last year, more than 55,000 AXA employees worldwide took part in this major event, which has become the annual initiative uniting all AXA staff around a common project.

The theme of risk prevention is a subject directly related to the business of AXA and its contribution to society. The events organised this year will mobilise employees of all AXA entities worldwide for actions related to climate risk, health and financial risk.

Employees are invited throughout the week to participate in a particular online game on risk prevention, to share their knowledge with colleagues so that everyone contributes. At the end of this online game, participants have the opportunity to vote to make a donation to one of the projects supported by the NGO CARE, a global partner of AXA:

- Provide economic security and nutrition for women and youth in Cameroon;

- Support a therapy centre for disabled children in Romania;

- Promote the use of improved domestic ovens in rural India to reduce the risks to health and environment.

"Caring for people is central to our business. That is why we initiated the CR Week in 2011, and since then, the initiative has gone from strength to strength. We have seen that the number of committed employees has more than doubled in five years! We are very proud because it says a lot about how AXA and we are committed to different communities," said Henri de Castries, Chairman and CEO of AXA.

Thomas Buberl, Deputy CEO of the AXA Group, officially appointed in March to head the group on 1 September, added "This year we have chosen prevention as a key topic of CR Week as it is for us a central concern, which we share with our customers - we all want to reduce risk. The CR Week is a very important moment for the Group and on behalf of the management team, I would like to thank all employees for their commitment during this week. "
