On Monday the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) held its October ABAL luncheon at the Double Tree by Hilton.

The accompanying presentation, entitled “Together Strong”, on a new Luxembourg startup support and advancement centre was delivered by Ivaylo Piskov, formerly director at Goldman Sachs and now Managing Partner at Private Consulting Sàrl. His co-Managing Partner, Hélène Michel, was unfortunately unable to assist in the presentation as she was unwell.

The thrust of the presentation was that although there are many different agencies in Luxembourg that are there to help company startups, finding out what each of them can offer, and their potential for working together with a new company, is a minefield that few new entrepreneurs have either the time or the expertise to negotiate.

Private Consulting Sàrl are leveraging their contacts and expertise in the domain to help new startups to obtain the best support, whether it be business expertise, angel investment or administrative, to be able to cross that minefield successfully. According to Mr. Piskov, they adopt a “family” approach, where they act as the parents, and enable the “child” startup to learn, grow and eventually gain their full independence.

After the presentation, a fruitful Q&A session took place, enabled, in no small part, by AmCham Chairman Paul Schonenberg.
