AMCHAM Luxembourg has announced that its Tax Committee is organising an event on the topic "Update on US and European tax policy and its impact on Luxembourg" on Tuesday 21 March at 19:00 at the Banque de Luxembourg in Luxembourg city centre (14 bld Royal).   The International and European tax environment has been undergoing several developments over the past years. We have witnessed further anti-BEPS actions being taken by the OECD, as well as increased efforts by the European Union in implementing the EU anti-avoidance package. Furthermore, the current political changes in the US will certainly have an impact on tax policy across all European countries, including Luxembourg.

Luxembourg has already made major efforts in modernizing its tax law and tax policy. However, it has still to face more challenges and opportunities in the upcoming months. Most important of all, the Grand Duchy has to find its way to remain an attractive location for business. The conference will address the influence on Luxembourg of EU policy and the proposed tax reform by the new US administration.

The key-note speaker will be Mrs. Marlies de Ruiter, EY Global ITS policy tax leader, formerly OECD Head of the Tax Treaty, Transfer Pricing and Financial Transactions Division playing a key role in the BEPS initiative. Mr. Fred Gander, partner in KPMG, will be the US tax expert speaker, and will be followed by the presentation of an industry expert.

Among other topics, the event will discuss:

• Status of the OECD and EU tax policy changes and how these impact Luxembourg; • The new US administration tax plans and how these may impact Europe and  Luxembourg in particular; • Insights from industry with respect to the changes in the tax environment

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion, where the audience will have a chance to raise questions to the experts. The event will be followed by a networking cocktail.

Cost €36 for non-members (members afre free-of-charge). To register to attend, see www.amcham.lu
