The American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg (AMCHAM Luxembourg) has been running a series of “Newcomers Orientation Courses for Third-Country Nationals” fom December 2015; the next course takes place on Saturday 20 May at the Chambre de Commerce in Luxembourg-Kirchberg from 09:45.

The Newcomers Orientation Courses are organised under the auspices of, and with the funding support of, the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Luxembourg Reception and Integration Agency / Ministry of Family and Integration (OLAI). Due to the funding specifics, these course offerings in English and Portuguese are targeted for attendance by non-EU citizens legally residing in Luxembourg.

Due to the AMIF and OLAI funding support, these 6-hour-long Saturday courses are offered free of charge, with ING sponsoring the lunches. The course offerings in English are targeted for attendance by non-EU citizens, legally residing in Luxembourg (holders of a temporary or long-term residence permit) for less than 18 months.

Topics covered on the course: Bureaucracy, your local commune, working life, day to day living, tax card, renting, utilities, phone and internet, TV, radio and the press, history, geography, politics, insurance, vehicles, driving and transportation, education, music tuition, health scheme, child allowance, culture, etiquette and customs, leisure and entertainment, shopping, expat organisations, sports, music, cycling, recycling, integration.

Each attendee will also receive a free copy of the current AMCHAM Doing Business in Luxembourg book.
