The Governing Council has proposed to the Grand Duke Jean-Pierre Faber as director of the Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (CSSF), based on the proposal of Minister of Finance, Pierre Gramegna.

This would take effect from 1 September 2016. Jean-Pierre Faber, born in 1972, holds a degree in commercial engineering, specialising in new technologies, from the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology in Brussels, as well as a Business Administration degree from Warwich Business School.

Mr. Faber has gained solid professional experience in the private sector, acting as director of operations at Ernst & Young Services SA in Luxembourg since January 2010.

The Governing Council also agreed to propose to the Grand Duke the appointment of François Thoma, former director, to the role of general director of the BCEE and of Aloyse Kohll, former deputy director, to the function of director at the same bank, with effect from 1 June 2016.
