Luxembourg's employment agency, ADEM, has published the latest unemployment figures for the Grand Duchy.

At the end of May 2016, the total number of people registered as unemployed stood at 16,331 which represents a 5.2% fall in 12 months, i.e. a reduction in 898 individuals, with the number from May 2013 at 16,470. The current unemployment rate is 6.5%, one percentage point below that of April 2016 and 4 percentage points below the rate in May 2015.

In May 2016, 1,462 new people registered at ADEM, with the number claiming unemployment benefits at 6,520 (373 below that of May 2015). At the end of May 2016, 5,502 people benefitted from an employment measure (i.e. part of their salary was paid by ADEM), representing a drop of 1.5% compared to May 2015.
