Luxembourg's employment agency, ADEM, has published the latest unemployment figures for the Grand Duchy.

At the end of June 2016, the total number of people registered as unemployed stood at 15,955 which represents a 5.2% fall in 12 months, i.e. a reduction in 878 individuals; this is the first time since November 2012 that the figure has fallen below 16,000.

The current unemployment rate is 6.5%, 0.4 percentage points below the rate from June 2015.

In June 2016, 1,501 new people registered at ADEM, with the number claiming unemployment benefits at 6,352 (361 below that of June 2015). At the end of June 2016, 5,441 people benefitted from an employment measure (i.e. part of their salary was paid by ADEM), representing a drop of 2.5% compared to June 2015.
