Luxembourg's employment agency, ADEM, has published the latest unemployment figures for the Grand Duchy.
At the end of August 2016, the total number of people registered as unemployed stood at 16,366 (down from 16,636 at the end of July) which 168 less than the figure one month ago.
The current unemployment rate has remained at 6.4%, 0.5% below the rate from August 2015.
In August 2016, 1,736 new people registered at ADEM (138 more than the corresponding period 12 months ago), with the number claiming unemployment benefits at 6,583 (394 below that of July
2015). At the end of August 2016, 4,965 people benefitted from an employment measure (i.e. part of their salary was paid by ADEM), representing a drop of 6.3% compared to August 2015.
