On 28 November 2016, the Board of Directors of the Société Nationale des Chemins de Fe Luxembourg (CFL) appointed Alain Blau as CFL's Chief Financial Officer with effect from 1 March 2017, when he will succeed Gilbert Schock who will retire on that date.
With a university degree in economics from Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg and a certified public accountant in Luxembourg, Alain Blau is currently Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of the CFL's Freight Group. He began his professional career as External Auditor with KPMG and held various positions in the field of Internal Audit with ArcelorMittal. Within the CFL Group, Alain Blau has worked since 2008 as Deputy Chief Financial Officer and CFL Cargo's CFO (2010-2014).
Aged 42, he is married and has a child.
