ING Belgium’s Board of Directors have announced that Rik Vandenberghe has tendered his resignation as CEO and member of the Board of Directors of ING Belgium; he will remain CEO of ING Belgium until 28 February.

After more than 30 years with the Group, where he has occupied various functions in Belgium and abroad until his appointment in May 2013 as CEO of ING Belgium, Rik Vandenberghe has decided to leave ING. He will take up a new challenge outside the financial sector as CEO of BESIX Group.

Rik Vandenberghe became CEO of ING Luxembourg in 2007. During his six years at the head of the company, ING Luxembourg developed considerably. Rik Vandeberghe became Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Luxembourgish entity in 2013.

The successor of Rik Vandenberghe as CEO of ING Belgium will be announced in due course (subject to regulatory approvals).
