Amazon Luxembourg said today that the company will be recruiting hundreds of new positions in Luxembourg over the course of 2017, part of a pan-European expansion that should see some 15,000 new full-time jobs added to the company’s payroll.

Last year, Amazon’s European workforce grew by more than 10,000 full-time employees, 500 of them in Luxembourg where Amazon currently employs 1,500 people for its offices in Clausen, the Grund and Kirchberg.

The company said that the new jobs will open up across a wider range of roles, and experience and skills leves, from engineers and software developers to those seeking entry-level positions and on-the-job training. Many of the roles will be in new order-fulfilment centres that are currently under construction in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and UK.

“We continue to invest heavily across Europe in fulfilment, customer service, cloud technology, research and development, machine learning, advanced logistics and much more,” said Xavier Garambois, vice president, Amazon EU Retail.

Roy Perticucci, vice president Europe customer fulfilment, said that the jobs created will reflect the needs of their employees as well as customers.

“Across Europe, Amazon is continuing to invest in new infrastructure and employment opportunities to ensure we continue to grow and meet the needs of our customers,” said Roy Perticucci, Vice President Europe Customer Fulfillment. “We are creating job opportunities with choice and flexibility that appeal to the widest range of individuals, from those that want a full working week to those that just want to work for a few hours. All our jobs offer competitive salaries and benefits packages and I am pleased to be welcoming more people to our operations in 2017.”
