RBS International has appointed a new Country Head in Luxembourg; Jean Marc Lahaye assumes responsibility for all of the bank’s local operations.

Alongside his role as Country Head, Jean Marc is also responsible for leading its local Fund Banking business, managing a team of Circa 50 employees from the Espace Kennedy, 46 Avenue John F Kennedy building.

Jean Marc’s management team includes Emilie Romain and Erika Bagi, who will soon be joining the team in Luxembourg from the RBS International Gibraltar branch.

Belgium-born Jean Marc joined RBS 8 years ago working in the commercial sector. Since then, as an Executive Director of the Luxembourg business, he has helped in the transition of the Luxembourg business from RBS plc to RBS International.

Before joining RBS, Jean Marc worked for ABN AMRO Bank. This corporate and institutional business was then transferred to RBS, where he developed the private equity proposition, including depository activities.

Commenting on his appointment, Jean Marc said: “I’m incredibly proud to be named as Country Head in RBS International’s newest branch. I’m excited about our lending and hedging proposition as Luxembourg is one of the leading alternative funds jurisdictions in Europe, second only to America. We’re in a great position with experienced and specialist teams in Luxembourg who are supported by our colleagues across the Channel Islands, Gibraltar and the Isle of Man. The new Luxembourg branch is an important step towards RBS International’s ambition to become the number one funds banking business across the UK and Western Europe.”
