On Tuesday 31 May 2016, the British Chamber of Commerce will be holding an HR Business Forum entitled "Embracing Diversity: Recognising and Overcoming Unconscious Bias".

The Forum will offer a choice of between three workshops based on exchanging ideas and learning about best practices, tools and strategies for individuals, leaders and organisations wanting to build a more inclusive workplace. The interactive workshop will explore varieties of unconscious bias, their influence and their significance.

Workshops will involve group discussions which will then be presented back to the entire group following the sessions. The event will be introduced by Sarah Battey, the HR Group subject matter expert and then followed by a breakout session lasting around one hour and fifteen minutes.

After registering for the event here, participants are asked to choose from one of the three workshops below by emailing info@bcc.lu:
1. The Impact of UB in the Hiring Process (led by Claudia Neumeister): When can unconscious bias become an issue in the hiring process and how can you make adjustments to your processes to counteract it?
2. UB and Talent Development (led by Jill Saville): What personal experiences have participants had with unconscious bias, and what can they learn from them to make their organizations more inclusive?
3. UB and Leadership (led by Yvonne O’Reilly): How does unconscious bias show up in leadership behaviours and what are some simple strategies to build stronger and more inclusive leadership cultures?

The event will take place at Clifford Chance, 10 boulevard G.D. Charlotte L-1330 Luxembourg, starting with registration from 16:00 with the introduction to start at 16:30. The event will be concluded with networking, drinks and canapes from 19:00 to 20:00. Spaces are limited to 50 people.
