HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke Visits tomb of the unknown soldier, Arlington Cemetery; Credit: Ambassade du Luxembourg à Washington

During their visit to Washington DC on Friday and Saturday 13-14 October 2017, HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke, Prince Guillaume, and the Minister of Finance, Pierre Gramegna, visited the famous "Library of Congress", where one of the most important collections of Luxembourg books is located outside Luxembourg.

They then visited the Arlington National Cemetery, where Prince Guillaume laid a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier and in front of the Battle of the Bulge monument to pay tribute to the American soldiers who had died for the liberation of Luxembourg.

Finally, a dinner organised at the Embassy of Luxembourg on 14 October 2017 was an opportunity for HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke and Minister Gramegna to discuss international affairs with Christine Lagarde, IMF Executive Director, Kristalina Georgieva, World Bank CEO, EIB President, Werner Hoyer, ESM Director, Klaus Regling and Greta Bull, CEO of the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor.

This trip to Washington will be followed by a mission to promote Luxembourg's financial centre from 15 to 17 October in New York, chaired by His Royal Highness the Hereditary Grand

Duke and led by the Minister of Finance.
