Minister Jean Asselborn in Innsbruck;

Luxembourg's Minister of European and Foreign Affairs, Jean Asselborn, visited Austria yesterday, Monday 23 October; he visited Innsbruck on the invitation of Armand Hausmann the Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Innsbruck.
The visit was organised as part of the festivities to celebrate 40 years of the consulate in Innsbruck. Minister Asselborn delivered a speech retracing the historical and cultural links between the Grand Duchy and the Länder of Tyrol and Vorarlsberg.
Minister Asselborn also met with the local authorities, most notably the governor of Tyrol, Günther Platter, and Herwig van Staa, the President of the regional Parlement and Christine Oppitz-Plörer, the mayor of Innsbruck.
He also visited the University of Innsbruck on the invitation of the rector Tilmann Märk to participate on a debate on Europe and Brexit entitled "Jahrshundertereignis oder Peanuts: wohin steuert Europa nach Brexit und Flüchlingskrise?"
