On Wednesday 27 December 2017, Luxembourg's Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and rsponsible for Immigration and Asylum, Jean Asselborn, is visiting Athens after he accepted an invitation to visit Greece's capital city from Yannis Mouzalas, Greece's Minister for Migration.

During his visit, Minister Asselborn will be received by the President of the Hellenic Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, before meeting with the Minister Delegate for Migration, Yannis Mouzalas.

Along with Minister Delegate Mouzalas, Minister Asselborn will also visit the Schisto refugee camp in Athens, to see the situation on the ground and the reception and living conditions of the refugees.

Minister Asselborn's talks with the Greek authorities will take stock of the situation in Greece, which is one of the main entry points for illeegal migrants into the European Union, the implementation of the relocation mechanism as well as on the management of the crisis along the migratory route of the Eastern Mediterranean.
