Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Economy, Étienne Schneider, is in Brazil for a four-day visit this week, with a trade delegation from the Grand Duchy.

The Luxembourg delegation began the working visit to São Paulo, where Deputy PM Schneider had a meeting with Brazil's former president, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, as well as with the State Industries Federation of São Paulo. During the visit of the SES Brazilian site in Campinas on 3 April, the minister is to inaugurate the first SES teleport in South America.

Subsequently, Minister Schneider and his delegation will travel to Brasília, where he will have meetings with representatives of the Government of Brazil, including with the Minister of Defense, Joaquim Silva e Luna, the Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, Marcos Jorge de Lima, and Minister Gilberto Kassab, who is in charge of Science, Technology and Communication.

The main objective of the working visit is to present the high-level Brazilian interlocutors with the strengths and priority sectors of the Luxembourg economy, with a particular focus on research and development activities and those related to the space sector, while by seeking to identify potential collaborations with companies established in Brazil.
