On Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 February 2019, Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, will travel to Berlin and Madrid to meet the leaders of Germany and Spain.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Bettel will have a meeting with the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Angela Merkel, in Berlin. Discussions will focus on international and European political news as well as on bilateral relations. On the sidelines of this trip, Xavier Bettel will visit the Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionsanlagen und Konstruktionstechnik.

Subsequently, Prime Minister Bettel will travel to Madrid on Thursday, where he will be received by his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sánchez. The two heads of government will discuss the future of Europe and Brexit. They will also discuss bilateral relations between Spain and Luxembourg. In addition, Prime Minister Bettel will award honours to three personalities who have distinguished themselves by their merits for Luxembourg.
