At the invitation of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, Luxembourg’s Prime Minister, Luc Frieden, recently travelled to Warsaw to participate in a working dinner on the next strategic agenda of the European Union.

This meeting was part of a series of similar meetings to which the President of the Council has invited heads of state and government in different formats across several European capitals. This is the second strategic dinner Prime Minister Frieden attended, as he had already been received by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace for an informal dinner on the strategic agenda of the European Union on 28 November 2023, Luxembourg's Ministry of State noted.

The exchange on 11 April 2024 allowed the heads of government present to advance work in order to determine political priorities for the coming years in a complex geopolitical and macroeconomic context.

As part of the dinner, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk welcomed to the Royal Palace of Lazienki the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Luc Frieden, the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kaja Kallas, the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Prime Minister of Finland, Petteri Orpo, the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sànchez and the Prime Minister of Ireland, Simon Harris.

Ahead of the strategic dinner, Luxembourg's Prime Minister paid a working visit to his Polish counterpart, Donald Tusk, to discuss bilateral relations between Poland and Luxembourg, as well as European and international news.
