As of Friday last, no additional outbreaks of avian influenza have been confirmed in Luxembourg after several suspicions proved negative on analysis in the laboratory.

Since a new outbreak cannot be excluded, poultry keepers are nonetheless asked to be vigilant and to respect hygiene and biosecurity rules on their farms.

Any suspicion of avian influenza (abnormal mortality, significant fall in egg production) should be reported to the treating veterinarian.

Since all the territory of Luxembourg is declared a surveillance zone, all transport of live poultry is subject to the authorisation of the Veterinary Services Administration, telephone: 24 78 25 39, e-mail: info@asv.etat.lu).
