Luxembourg has once again emerged as one of the best countries for the consumption of fair trade products.

The average annual consumption per inhabitant has thus increased to €32, which
ranks Luxembourg 6th among the best consumers of Fairtrade certified products. The Grand Duchy followed Ireland (€71.60 per capita), Switzerland (€71.27), Finland (0€42.50), Sweden (€37) and Austria (€35). Indeed, 25 Luxembourg companies (licensed) are authorised to produce and/or sell fair trade products under their own brand. Meanwhile, one of the most popular products, fair trade coffee - introduced in Luxembourg in 1992 - has continued to grow steadily, today representing a turnover in the country of more than €8.13 million for a volume of 336 tonnes, an increase of 4% from 2016.
