Luxembourg's Brasserie Nationale, also known as the Bofferding Brewery, today officially inaugurated two new tanks as part of its yeast cellar project.

At the official inauguration, production manager Maurice Treinen presented the project, which forms part of plans to modernise the brewery facilities. A total investment of €800,000 went into the project, which saw the development of two tanks (one with a 3-tonne capacity, the other 1.7 tonnes) by the German firm Albert Frey AG, an important name in the field of brewing technology. Dr. Josef Kain (Doctor of Engineering) represented the company at the inauguaration.

This new equipment offers two major advantages for the brewery: the automation of yeast dosing and the automated cleaning of the entire plant, a system that is environmentally friendly since it enables the recovery of cleaning products. Maurice Treinen also emphasised the ways in which the new tanks will continue to facilitate the production of pure, organic and healthy beers. He pointed out that the brewery will maintain its traditions, but with a touch of something new as a result of the equipment.

Thanks to this yeast cellar, the Brasserie Nationale will continue to brew Bofferding, Battin and Funck-Bricher beers according to the rules of the brewing art, while being at the forefront of progress. Finally, as part of the guided tour of its infrastructures, visitors will now be able to see this new yeast cellar among the various stages of the brewing process.

The official inauguration ended with a viewing of the tanks themselves followed by a beer tasting.
