The Latvian Choir of Luxembourg, Meluzīna, which brings together Latvians and their friends of other nationalities living in Luxembourg and its surroundings, is celebrating its 5th anniversary by organising a concert on Saturday 9 June 2018 at 19:00 at the Protestant Church (5 rue de la Congregation, L-1352 Luxembourg-ville).

Meluzīna perpetuates in Luxembourg a long Latvian tradition of academic choral singing. Established in 2012, Meluzīna regularly gives concerts in Luxembourg and elsewhere, collaborates with renowned choirs and musicians and has established a place among the best Latvian choirs. Its choral conductor, Julija Norvele, is a graduate of the prestigious Latvian Academy of Music and, among other functions, directs the Academy for Young Voices of the Luxembourg Chamber Choir. The annual Meluzīna concert is traditionally its Advent concert - a highly anticipated event and appreciated by all lovers of choral singing. Recently, Meluzīna performed a concert at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris on the occasion of the opening of the Baltic Festival.

For its fifth birthday, Meluzīna has prepared a concert around the theme of love. On the programme: the most beautiful melodies of Latvian and international composers. The special guest - Ivars Cinkuss - is one of the most brilliant choral conductors of his generation. One of the many proofs of his success: the Gaudeaumus men's choir, under his direction, won the title of World Choir Games champion in 2014.

Free entrance, donations will be appreciated.
