The New World Theatre Club (NWTC) will be holding their next Café Villon, named after its original venue in Luxembourg City, on Tuesday 28 November 2017 at 19:30, at the Foyer Européen (12 rue Heinrich Heine, L-1720 Luxembourg-Gare - Salle Adenauer).

This is a club evening open to the public where people interested in theatre can meet in a relaxed and friendly way. During the evening, two or three pieces of work are presented and discussed, with breaks in between for chatting and refilling glasses. It is an entertaining social evening for like-minded people to meet and expand their enjoyment of theatre.

Café Villon provides a platform for directors and actors to work on a piece of theatre and present it to a live audience. The work is not a performance but more a rehearsed play reading with scripts. After each presentation there is a general discussion about the piece with the director and actors enabling feedback and insights. This is followed by a break before going on to the next piece.

The next Café Villon will look at two of the prize winners from this year’s LEAPA Playwriting competition: The Eulogy by Oana Marangoci and Friction by David Winston Lee, both local writers. These will be followed by a “surprise” workshop performance. All excellent new writing and all ready for their first public outing.

The NWTC is still looking for two male actors (to play a father and his adult son), so if you would like to take part as an actor, please contact John Brigg (tel: 691-636631 / email: jbrigg@pt.lu). The commitment is small: only one or two rehearsals (to be arranged with between director and actors) and then the presentation on 28 November.

Those intending to come along as “audience” are asked to please let Rose Flammant know by 27 November at the latest (Rose@nwtc.lu) so that she can ensure the Foyer doorkeeper will let you in.
