As the temporary exhibition of H. Craig Hanna, "Paintings and Drawings", draws to a close at the Musée national d'histoire et d'art (MNHA), the museum will be offering free admission to view the works of this contemporary American figurative painter.

The exhibition, which the MNHA has declared a resounding success, comprises a major retrospective of H. Craig Hanna's art, showing his love of both figures and landscapes through a collection of portraits, paintings and drawings. He has described the process of painting a landscape as "therapeutic", "more free, more spontaneous, not so thought out".

He has been inspired by the lies of Titian, Lotto and Preti, but has made a name for himself with his own individual technique of ink and acrylic behind plexiglas.

The MNHA will be offering free entry to the exhibition this weekend, between 10:00 and 18:00 on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 June 2016, in recognition of it closing. On Sunday, the MNHA will also be offering two guided tours of the exhibition, one in Luxembourgish or German at 15:00 and the other in Dutch at 16:00.
