The second edition of Luxembourg Art Week, which took place between 9 and 13 November 2016, was once again a success for the Grand-Duchy.

The event welcomed close to 11,900 visitors in comparison to the 7,000 who attended last year’s inaugural event. The increased number of visitors echoes the volume of sales which has also risen.

Luxembourgish and international exhibitors in the ‘Positions’ section once again proved the quality and judgement of their choices. Likewise, the new section ‘Take Off’ allowed visitors to discover contemporary creation in a more relaxed atmosphere. Due to the new section’s success, it will be carried on to next year’s event.

Guests, including international journalists and collectors, were surprised by the diversity and quality of the cultural offer in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.

Moreover, the round-tables sparked interest which, by bringing together key players and deciders on the local artistic scene, allowed those involved to discuss current subjects such as the Luxembourgish art gallery project or the role of business collections in Luxembourg’s artistic fabric.

Next year’s Luxembourg Art Week will take place from 9 to 12 November 2017.
