The association Design Friends has announced a conference with graphic designers and illustrators Lea Brousse and Raban Ruddigkeit, taking place on Wednesday 2 May 2018 at the Mudam from 18:30.

The illustration and graphic design conference will see Lea Brousse and Raban Ruddigkeit discuss the creative synergy of their Franco-German studio in the framework of the realisation of new identifiable concepts without logos.

Brousse & Ruddigkeit is a Franco-German design studio founded in 2015 in Berlin, specialising in graphic design and illustration. Also publishers, the designers publish Freistil - The Book of Illustrators and work in collaboration with the publishers Robert Eysoldt or Lars Harmsen for Typodarium and Photodarium. Their work has been rewarded and internationally recognised, especially in 2016 when they received the "Illustration of the Year" award from the Visual Lead Academy for "Graphic Comments" directed by the duo for the newspaper Der Tagesspiegel.

Lea Brousse was born in Provence (France), in 1984. She undertook part of her studies in Roubaix as part of her training in the field of design at Esaat (École supérieure des arts appliqués et du textile). In 2009, she went on to attain a Master's degree in industrial design at the Université de l’Architecture IUAV. Lea Brousse also developed her experience in various locations, from Venice, Berlin and North America where she worked as a designer for Zafin.

Raban Ruddigkeit was born in Leipzig (Germany) in 1968. In 1980, he co-founded the first and only fanzine of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). After working over 10 years as a designer and advertising director at the agencies Scholz & Friends and Jung von Matt, he has since continued (from 2009) his work in his studio in Berlin and has received more than 100 national and international awards. Alongside his work as a designer, Raban Ruddigkeit has taught in several universities in Hamburg, Munich, Berlin and, since 2016, in the Münster School of Design.

On the occasion of the Lea Brousse & Raban Ruddigkeit conference, Design Friends has published a catalogue containing an exclusive interview with the designers.
