The photocubes Luxembourg project was launched on Thursday 31 May 2018 by Luxembourg's Secretary of State for the Economy, Francine Closener, who inaugurated the cube installed in front of the Luxembourg City train station.

Photocubes offer unusual views of the regions of the Grand Duchy to promote the diversity of landscapes and tourist sites in the country. The aim is to surprise people who see them and to arouse their curiosity with an unusual visual, thus encouraging them to discover new facets of the country. All photos are provided with QR codes that lead to the websites of the regional tourist offices and the Luxembourg City Tourist Office, allowing one to find the exact locations where the shots were taken and to plan a visit to this region.

The project was carried out by the Ministry of the Economy, together with photographer Gery Oth and with the support of the regional tourism offices, as well as the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO). The cubes of 3 metres by 3 metres, showing on each side a different picture of the regions of the Grand Duchy, were created in the workshops of the Association helping with therapeutic work for those with disabilitiees (ATP) in Kehlen.

The five photocubes are located on the Place de l'Europe in Schengen, on the Place de la Gare in Luxembourg City, in the Esch-Belval station, on the site of the Heringermillen at Mullerthal and in front of Hotel Belvedere in Vianden.

Some cubes will be illuminated at night. The cubes will remain at these locations until the autumn, then they can change locations across the country.
