Osmotic by René Kanzler;
The MOB-ART studio will host the exhibition "René Kanzler - photomedia artist" from 6 September to 20 October 2018.
A graduate of the Academy of Arts and Design in Basel, Switzerland, René Kanzler defines himself as "a media artist" and more specifically as a "media artist of photography" or a "Photosophe". His approach to photography is intellectual in reflection on the very image of the art of photography and its context, its setting.
He appropriates the image of great diffusion, a unique work at the base but trivialised by its infinite and massive reproduction, to make a new work of art different and original, by his approach which features a kind of dematerialisation of the image; the image in turn is reconstructed as a photographic work according to the point of view or the context and exists by itself. In this sense, "to photograph" is for him a first interpretation, "to look" is another, and any additional interpretation becomes an "event" integrated into its context.
The artist will be present at the gallery on 13 September 2018 from 18:00-21:00.
