The cabinet of the Luxembourg government have adopted the draft strategy to the effects of climate change for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The draft strategy responds to an objective set by the government's climate policy programme at the national level, in which it was decided that the government will adopt a climate change adaptation strategy including measures in impacted areas by variations in rainfall and stream regimes.

The project lists the predictable consequences of climate change and identifies 13 sectors affected by these consequences. These are: housing, energy, forestry, infrastructure, crisis management, spatial planning, agriculture, health, biodiversity, tourism, urban spaces, water management and the economy.

Stakeholder consultation will be launched later.
