The Luxembourg Government has entered a state of mourning following the death of Secretary of State for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, Camille Gira.

Public buildings and administrations have therefore been encouraged to fly their flags at half-mast from today, Thursday 17 May, until Saturday 19 May 2018.

Meanwhile, the meeting of the Government Cabinet scheduled for 18 May has been cancelled. Instead, the government will meet to honour the late politician.

A book of condolences will also be open to the public today to allow those who wish to testify their sympathies and pay a last tribute to Camille Gira. The condolence book will be available on Thursday 17 May from 14:00-18:00, Friday 18 May from 8:00-18:00 and Saturday 19 May from 10:00-16:00 at the Ministry of State in Luxembourg City (4, rue de la Congregation).
