A total of 132 applications for international protection were received in Luxembourg last month.

April 2018 saw the submission of 132 applications for asylum to the Luxembourg Department of Immigration. This represents the exact same number of applications received in March 2018 and is a slight increase from February’s intake of 121. However, the April 2018 figure remains lower than the 185 applications received in April 2017.

The majority of the asylum applications last month came from people leaving Iraq (25), followed by Syria (15) and Georgia and Afghanistan (both 12). Applications came from the continents of Europe, Asia and Africa.

The total number of applications for 2018 so far is 560.
