Over the four days of Whit / Pentecost (18-21 May 2018), the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) saw a significant increase in the number of guided visits and the number of visitors to the Casemates du Bock compared to 2017.

One of the key success factors for urban tourism in Luxembourg is the organisation of guided tours, up 35% compared to 2017. The LCTO's accredited guides provided 138 visits over four days, an increase of 36 tours compared to 2017. This exceptional increase is part of the general increase noted during the 2015-2018 observation period.

As for the Casemates du Bock, a total of 3,513 people discovered one of the top tourist attractions in the Grand Duchy, an increase of 9% compared to 2017.

In terms of the number of visitors to its reception and information office located at Place Guillaume II, the LCTO recorded numbers that are stable compared to 2017.

As regards the countries of origin of the visitors received at the reception and information desk, most of them come from Germany (30%), followed by France (19%) and Luxembourg (9%), followed by Great Britain (6%), the Netherlands (6%) and Belgium (3%).
