Luxembourg's Ministry of Economy has announced that today, 11 June 2018, Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, Étienne Schneider, participated in the Energy Council held in Luxembourg. At this Council, Member States had a prolonged exchange on renewable energy and energy efficiency targets to be set for the 2030 horizon.

Minister Schneider called for a target of at least 35% at European level for both renewable energy and energy efficiency and made a strong call to his colleagues, encouraging them to be more ambitious in terms of energy and climate policy, in order to enable the European Union to be the leader in these areas.
