The Grand Ducal Police has reported that thieves failed in an attempt to steal an automated teller machine (ATM) from the Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg on the night netween Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 June 2018.
The thieves gained access to the grounds of the Parc Merveilleux by cutting holes in the fence at various points, and gained access to the building housing the ATM. They then sprayed paint onto the CCTV cameras located both in an outdoor area and at the ATM itself. The cash machine suffered what was described as significant damage.
The police have launched an investigation.
