Minister of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, François Bausch;

On Friday 6 July 2018, the Cabiet of Luxembourg's Government adopted a list of new major infrastructure projects (costing €10 million or more) which are submitted each year to the approval of the Chamber of Deputies, Luxembourg's Parliament.

In the coming years, the Luxembourg state will continue to make significant investments in infrastructure, whether in construction or public works.

The list includes a total of 33 projects, most of them in the field of public works.

One of the flagship projects is the new control tower at Luxembourg airport in Findel.

The largest number of projects fits logically into the sphere of mobility, especially in view of a clear improvement of bus traffic from the east of the country to the capital, namely a bus corridor on the A7 between Waldhaff and Kirchberg and a bus corridor between Gonderange and Waldhaff (N11).

Other key projects include the N4 as part of the development of the Arbed-Schifflange wasteland; a lane for the fast tram as well as an emergency stop lane for carpooling and buses on the A4; the extension of the Findel tram to Kalchesbruck on the N1; the continuation of the tram on the Route d'Arlon (N6); the Luxembourg city railway station interchange; the Frisange exchange and the boulevard du Hoehenhof which is of crucial importance for the development of the Hoehenhof exchange Park & Ride with 4,000 places.

In addition, other projects included in the list are the extension to the Primary Building at the European School in Kirchberg, and the renovation and extension of buildings at Schrassig prison and Dreiborn detention centre.

François Bausch, Luxembourg's Minister of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, expressed his greatest satisfaction on the progress of ongoing projects and remains confident that the dynamics of the last years can be continued in the years to come.
