A total of 151 applications for international protection were received in Luxembourg last month.

June 2018 saw the submission of 151 applications for asylum to the Luxembourg Department of Immigration. This represents an increase in the number of applications received in May (139) and in April and March 2018 (132 each). The figure also represents an increase from the 144 applications received in June 2017.

The majority of the asylum applications last month came from people leaving Syria (24), followed by Iraq (21) and Afghanistan and Eritrea (19 each). Applications mainly came from the continents of Europe, Asia and Africa, with only one coming from Peru on the American continent.

The total number of applications for 2018 so far is 850.
