23 Year-old Motorcyclist Dies in Collision with Van

A 23 year-old motorcyclist died following an accident on the CR122 between Dreiborn and Flaxweiler on Monday at around noon.

The accident involved a van and a motorcyclist. The Grand Ducal Police reported that, according to initial information, a delivery truck veered into the opposite lane whereupon it had collision with a motorcyclist.

As a result of the impact, the motorcycle was thrown over the roadside barrier and into an adjacent stream, with the motorcyclist ending up in the meadow next to it.

Volunteers emergency crews from Wormeldange and the rescue helicopter were on site and resuscitation measures were carried out. The 23-year-old Luxembourger from Stadtbredimus died at the scene of the accident.

The road remained closed until around 16:00 due to forensics examination being carried out and the vehicles being towed away from the crash scene.
