Yesterday afternoon, two forest fires broke out in a wooded area in Bickeltchen, Hobsheid.
The two fires occurred within the space of a few hours. Firefighters successfully extinguished the first fire, which broke out in the immediate vicinity of Rue du Neuort, around 15:00. However, a second fire was reported around 19:15 about 1km away from the first.
Due to difficulties in accessing the source of the fire, which was located in the middle of the forest, the police helicopter was requested by the emergency services to detect its size and exact location.
Investigations into the cause of the fires have begun.
