Earlier today, Tuesday 28 August 2018, a truck driver pulled off the road at the Potaschberg exit on the A1 motorway in Luxembourg, near the border with Germany, and noticed, as he was stopping, that the tailgate opened and a number of people jumped out and ran towards the motorway.

This incident happened shortly after 08:00. A number of people who witnessed what had happened contacted the police who arrived on the scene and initiated a search. The soon rounded up a total of seven people and brought them to the offices of Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

A similar incident happened in Grass this morning at around the same time, near the A6 motorway and the Belgian border. When a truck driver from Hungary wanted to change a tyre, several people jumped from inside the trailer. The driver estimated that there were about 20 people inside. The driver ran back to the driver's cab to call for help. Several police patrols carried out a search but were unable to locate anyone in the vicinity.
