The Luxembourg central train station was evacuated this morning after the fire alarm went off.

Following a development of smoke in one of the offices at the station, the fire alarm was triggered at around 09:00. For security reasons, the entire main hall of the Luxembourg Station was evacuated and firefighters from the City of Luxembourg were called on site.

The incident did not, at any time, pose a danger to travelers and people at the station and no one was hurt.

For safety reasons, traffic on track 3 was temporarily interrupted and access to the South Tunnel was blocked. Access to the tunnel was restored within 30 minutes.

Some traffic disruptions may still occur.
