Catering service Restopolis today opened its new restaurant the "Food Lab" on the Belval campus of the University of Luxembourg.

On Monday 12 November 2018, Restopolis, the school and university catering service of the Luxembourg Ministry of National Education, Childhood and Youth, opened Food Lab, a new restaurant with a capacity of 254 places replacing the former Brasserie des Sciences humaines on the university's Belval campus.

More than just a place to eat, the Food Lab, which forms part of the Meet, Eat & Study concept, aims to be a meeting place, a place for work and a modern exchange where students and staff of the Belval campus can meet around lunch, dinner or a snack.

The ground floor holds 198 seats whilst the mezzanine first floor accommodates a further 56 people and houses a dining room as well as an area equipped with microwave ovens. Regarding meals, the new restaurant aims to provide fresh, tasty and balanced dishes daily using mainly local ingredients.

To celebrate the opening of the Food Lab today, 250 students were able to download vouchers for a free lunch on the Restopolis website.

Likewise, the University Restaurant has become the Food House, the Café du Savoir has become the Food Café and the Brasserie de l'Innovation has become Food Zone.

The Food Lab is located at 11, Porte des Sciences, L-4366, Esch-sur-Alzette.
