A total of 178 applications for international protection were received in Luxembourg last month.
October 2018 saw the submission of 178 applications for asylum to the Luxembourg Department of Immigration. This represents a decrease in the number of applications received in September (209) and August (223) this year, as well as a slight decrease from the 194 applications received in October 2017.
The majority of the asylum applications last month came from people leaving Eritrea (55), followed by Syria (29). Applications came from the continents of Europe, Asia and Africa.
The total number of applications for 2018 so far is 1,698.
