Due to weather forecasts, Luxembourg's Ministry of Family, Integration and the Greater Region, together with partner organisations of the Winter Action (Wanteraktioun) initiative, namely Inter-Actions ASBL, Caritas Home and Solidarity ASBL and the Cross Rouge luxembourgeoise, have decided to open the Night Reception Centre this Friday 23 November 2018.
The opening of the Day Reception Centre will take place, as planned, on 1 December 2018.
The Winter Action (Wanteraktioun) is a humanitarian action implemented by the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg since winter 2001/2002 and generally takes place between 1 December and 31 March.
The Day Reception Centre is located at 22 Rue du Dernier Sol in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie, and is open every day from 12:00 to 17:00. Here, Inter-Actions ASBL and the Luxembourg Red Cross offer the following services:
1) Inter-Actions ASBL:
• Reception, information on the various Winter Action services, advice for people in need and referral to specialised social services.
• Inter-Actions ASBL coordinates the care of people by partner organisations.
2) The Luxembourg Red Cross:
• Lunch is served by Red Cross professionals together with a team of volunteers.
• Provision of resting places with newspapers, games, music and television.
• Organisation of specific activities such as CV writing and a painting workshop by socio-educational professionals.
• Medical and medical services on Tuesdays and Fridays from 13:00 to 15:00 by volunteer professionals from the Aids and Care Service and general practitioners.
• Reception, information on the various Winter Action services, advice for people in need and referral to specialised social services.

2) The Luxembourg Red Cross:
• Lunch is served by Red Cross professionals together with a team of volunteers.
• Provision of resting places with newspapers, games, music and television.

• Medical and medical services on Tuesdays and Fridays from 13:00 to 15:00 by volunteer professionals from the Aids and Care Service and general practitioners.
The Night Reception Centre is located at 2b route de Treves in Findel, located next to Lux-Airport's "Economy M" car park. It is open every night from 19:00 to 09:00. Together with volunteers, the professionals of Caritas Home and Solidarity ASBL offer overnight accommodation with a snack in the evening and breakfast, as well as sanitary facilities.
Registration is done during the day with the Inter-Actions Coordination Service at the Day Centre. For any extreme emergency, people can come directly between 19:00 and 23:00 to the Findel Night Reception Centre.
Shuttle bus
A "WAK" shuttle is organised between Luxembourg City and the Night Reception Centre. Evening schedule:
- Departure at Pier 2 at Boulevard Roosevelt at 18:55
- Departure at platform 17 RGTR at Central Station at 19:05
