The Grand Ducal Police have confirmed that on 22 November 2018, five people have been arrested for drug trafficking.
Following an investigation lasting several months, the criminal police from Diekirch - in cooperation with several police departments and under the direction of the examining magistrate from Diekirch - arrested four people for violations of the drug law, for drug trafficking in the municipality of Esch-sur-Sauer. In the same context, another person was arrested in the municipality of Esch-sur-Alzette.
All five persons were brought before the examining magistrate and four were subsequently released on remand.
As a result of various searches, about 2 kilograms of marijuana, about 270 grams of amphetamines, over €800 in cash, various weapons and two vehicles were confiscated.
