From 1 January 2019, the Office of Intellectual Property of Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy, will collect taxes and other fees relating to patents; until 31 December 2018 inclusive, such fees are collected by the Registration and Domain Administration.

As part of the administrative simplification measures, all administrative procedures related to patents will now be the responsibility of a single administration, in this case the Office of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of the Economy. The Office of Intellectual Property is in charge of the legal framework and the instruments offered to companies and creators to enable them to protect their intellectual property assets.

As a consequence, from 1 January, all taxes in connection with patents (procedural fees and Luxembourg maintenance fees) will have to be paid by transfer to the account of the Ministry of Finance, Economics, Office of Intellectual Property, L-2914 Luxembourg, IBAN LU91 1111 7125 0540 0000, BIC: CCPLULL.

The amounts of the official fee schedule for patents remain unchanged.
