Luxembourg's Ministry of Housing has announced that, at its meeting on 19 December 2018, the Government cabinet approved the Grand-Ducal Regulation adopting the programme for the construction of subsidised housing projects as well as related State participation.

The programme update includes an overall addition of 58 new projects for a total of 427 units, of which 50 will be for sale and 377 will be for rent.

A little less than half of the new projects will be initiated by municipalities, which illustrates the dynamics induced by municipal officials in social housing.

The total state participation for all new projects is estimated at €88.41 million.

The total programme for building projects currently contains 537 projects for a total of 11,197 dwellings, of which 5,741 dwellings concern housing projects for sale and 5,556 dwellings concern rental housing projects.
