Luxembourg's new Minister for Tourism, Lex Delles, opened the first modern holiday home in Luxembourg for large groups on Tuesday 18 December 2018, during his first official act which took place in Wincrange, to boost tourism in the "Éislek" in collaboration with the "ORT Éislek" represented by Pol Ihry.
Minister Delles was enthusiastic about the new tourism concept of renovating and revitalising empty buildings in the various municipalities of Luxembourg.
Mayor Marcel Thommes and the municipality of Wincrange were the first to succeed in this implementation, in cooperation with the holiday home specialist "Casapilot" from Luxembourg, represented by Dusty Kukenheim and Sandro Kleis.
The vacant "Barteshaus" in Hoffelt, which for about three years had no longer any purpose for the municipality, was renovated into a new facility and concept for tourists from Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and of course Luxembourg for family weekends, team-buildings and group travel.
The holiday home in the north of Luxembourg, which can be booked for up to 24 people, is managed by the company "Casapilot" which takes care of the maintenance, logistics and marketing of the facility. More than 1,000 guests are expected annually which would be a great asset to local businesses and tourism.
Further projects are planned to be realized in 2019, in order to offer Luxembourg attractive accommodation for tourists.
