Luxembourg's High Commission for National Protection (Haut-Commissariat à la protection nationale - HCPN) has reported that the Grand Duchy will maintain its terrorist threat "level 2".

Following the terrorist attack of Friday 22 March 2024 on Moscow, the GCT counter-terrorism coordination group met at the request of Luxembourg's Prime Minister in order to assess the threat on the national territory.

In view of information currently available, the GCT found no evidence suggesting a "probable and concrete" threat on Luxembourg's territory.

As such, threat level 2 is being maintained. In accordance with the VIGILNAT plan, level 2 is triggered when it appears that the terrorist threat is "real but abstract".

The GCT will continue to assess the situation, noted the HCPN.
